As it turns out, the secret weapons are actually very rudimentary, just the sort of thing we've all seen before: a pair of SM3 Hellcats, each with four machine guns hanging off a plane, and a Stuka Dive-bomber with a machine gun. There's also a pair of B-17 Flying Fortresses. With very little in the name of Secret Weapon number two other than one being big enough to get bored of the occupation and the other being so old it's finished. It's not that kind of game.

It's a game for the player who wants to pretend to fly his plane more than actually fly it. The most interesting thing is how it enables the player to do so. One minute a plane is dropping bombs in Normandy, and the next it's battling a red-range Ace Wasp or a pair of Hellcats, breaking the sound barrier, gaining speed when it needs it and diving in a way no in-cockpit wiggle mouse could ever make it do.

-Some hilarious subutclouse (literally) sequences, like a bunch of US and Allied pilots on the ground playing snooker in a bar. And more amusing fly-bys, as well. (You can even do a cockpit fly-by - just hold down the fire button while you fly over the enemy.)

You're the pilot of the Spitfire - it's the only fighter you can fly in this game - in the war to save Britain from Adolf. You fly against the enemy in action sequences, dogfights, and reconnaissance missions, but never, ever, take off alone to engage in 'one-man' dogfights. It's not that kind of war.
